Hello,
I can't seem to find any documentation on this. I finished an
application and tagged the files as a release but didn't create a
branch. Now, I can't check in any new changes to the checked out
files. The error message just says:
>cvs commit ParseLog.java
cvs server: sticky tag `rel_1_1' for file `ParseLog.java' is not a
branch
cvs [server aborted]: correct above errors first!
Apparently, I'm the only idiot that tagged a release without
branching, because I haven't been able to find a clear explanation of
how to fix this. I've had so many horrible messes from misapplication
of cvs commands, I'm reluctant to just start trying things out.
Any help would be appreciated. I guess I need to move the current
tagged version to a branch so that I can update it. Why that is a
requirement is a puzzler to me.
Thanks.
