Thanks for clearing this up, and for the documentation pointer. Seems
like a pretty ugly hack to me. You can't remove a directory, so you
have to get all users to update with -P, and then insert a dummy file
into every otherwise empty directory that you really want to create.
Yuck!
I think future versions of CVS should find some way to remove
directories.
