Newby CVS with FTP/HTML Webserver

Hello,

I am sorry if this question was asked before.
I  was widing through the FAQ and manuals but did not get an answer to
my question.

We are a team of developers maintaining a Webpage with FTP.
The Webspace is hosted at a Provider.

Is CVS suitable in this situation?

I  understood  that  there  is  a  server  part of CVS which has to be
installed  at  the  server.  Well  this  will  not  be possible at the
provider.
