I'm must posting to the gnu.cvs.help group from my NNTP server, which
happens to be hosted by one of my ISPs (crosslink). As I said my
email address used to be a crosslink address, but I have to stop using
that because of spam.

Quite right. Thanks for pointing out the error. My domain suffix
should be .net, not .org. I've fixed the problem (as you can see)
