Are there several gigs left on every partition?  It looks like you are
checking out from a remote server.  That 20-30 MB is being temporarily
saved someplace, (probably /tmp, but could be someplace else).  Do a 'df
-h' and look for partitions that have less than 20MB free, and thats
probably where its running out of space.
