   I had to install tcltk-8.5.5-x11.dmg from 
http://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/tools/

   I don't know why this passage has not been necessary with other R 
installations of mine.

  As I try, independently from jgraph,

  library(tcltk)

  R hangs.
