Hmmm, I bet it has to do something with ARPACK again ;) I'll try to install gcc-4.4 and test it. In the meanwhile, can you tell me whether you are using the built-in BLAS, LAPACK and ARPACK when compiling or you are using the ones in Fedora? (Using Fedora's BLAS and LAPACK should be preferred as they tend to be more fine-tuned than the ones that igraph supplies).
