I don't know if it's related or not, but I have a similar problem
which I never reported.

In trying to write a BNF I introduced a macro for tokens, and meant to
use it for braces.  I had to define two representations of braces for
this macro, one for TeX and the other for makeinfo.  And none is ``the
right one'' (@{).

The example below demonstrates the failures/successes of both TeX and
makeinfo.

I'm using \def\texinfoversion{2000-09-06.09} and makeinfo 4.0.

BTW, is there a public CVS Texinfo?
