GNU Smalltalk leadership proposal

Greetings,

It appears that there is no one in the leadership and management role for
GNU Smalltalk. As far as I can tell, GNU Smalltalk has not been updated
since 2015. In spite of this, however, others have made important
contributions which have not been incorporated into the distribution.

I have always appreciated the ideas and effort behind GNU Smalltalk and
believe it would be a shame to let it disappear due to bit rot and
neglect. Unfortunately, I am too overburdened with other open-source
projects to take this upon myself. From more recent contributions on the
mailing list, it appears that others have an interest in GNU Smalltalk. I
think it would be good for someone to step up and take a leadership and
management role in GNU Smalltalk. This is the only way GNU Smalltalk will
continue, and possibly increase, in usefulness and use.

I leave the remaining of this conversation to those interested.

Respectfully,

Blake McBride
