contour plotting with "whiteout" regions

Hi Guys

is it possible to "whiteout" certain regions of a contour plot? If so, how
can this be achieved?

For example, if one creates a contour plot of the stresses over a cross
section of a beam, how would one "whiteout' areas so that the contour plot
will take the shape of the cross section of the beam?
