Thank you for your hints! I used the EXCEL 2016. I installed EXCEL 365 and
deleted the 'OCT' option in the xlsopen - command. It works now with octave
5.1.0!
I use the GNU Octave GUI Editor under windows. There I can write the
uppercase 2 and 3 and the mu with the key "alt gr" and 2,3 resp. m.
