The latest changeset still applied cleanly to Octave's development version a
few weeks ago; I use it regularly.

It has been brought up on the mailing list before but the response was about
nil.  Maybe that was because of other urgent matters (new releases or what),
but I'm afraid this didn't help much to motivate the contributor who made
the variable editor :-(
