Building MXE Octave 3.8

I think I have gotten to the point where I am almost building Octave. I am
using Debian 7 and using the steps described, I think I got everything
installed correctly. 

When I issue actually make octave, make runs for a while. generates a log
file and at the very end gives the following errors

make[5]: *** [doc-cache] Error 1
make[5]: Leaving directory
`/root/mxe-octave/tmp-octave/octave-3.8.0/.build/doc/interpreter'
make[4]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory
`/root/mxe-octave/tmp-octave/octave-3.8.0/.build/doc'
make[3]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/root/mxe-octave/tmp-octave/octave-3.8.0/.build'
make[2]: *** [install] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/root/mxe-octave/tmp-octave/octave-3.8.0/.build'
make[1]: *** [build-only-octave] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/mxe-octave'


These may not be serious errors but wanted to confirm if I was going down
the right path. I was not able to locate the zip file that is mentioned so
perhaps I am missing something.
