octave-gtk code is not working please help me

hi
i want to know how to create GUI for octave . i have tried to run a code
posted on this page.

 i copied this code and pasted it in gtk.m file. when i write gtk and press
enter in octave to run this code the it gives me the error. 

octave-3.2.4:2> gtk
error: `in' undefined near line 51 column 8
error: evaluating argument list element number 1
error: evaluating argument list element number 1
error: called from:
error:   gtk at line 51, column 2

i have installed gtk+2 in my computer. please help me . explain me all the
necessary step to run this code.
