Octave-gui crashes when trying to open file in editor |

With Octave 3.8.0 compiled on Mac Mountain Lion 10.8.5. I get the rainbow
spinning ball then a crash. The only error message is below:
Application Specific Information:
*** error for object 0x114307220: pointer being freed was not allocated
