I am not at the level that you would want me messing with OpenMP or QuickThread.  I am a novice programmer.  My background is Mechanical Engineering but I know a lot about programming compared to most Mechanical Engineers.

Doesn't look like it. QuickThread does not seem as big as OpenMP. Note
that we barely have any OpenMP support in Octave either. As I recall,
it is disabled by default at compile time, and it's used very
sparingly in the Octave source code.

Are you interested in either OpenMP or QuickThread? Can you help us
implement either?
