Yep, there it is - it's the "%".  Either use s as data to a "%s" for the whole 
string, or escape %'s in the string as well:

s=[s '1 - D & Adjustable Power Supply & Hewlett Packard  & 6012B & 
$\\pm$0.65\\\% & @ 95\\% confidence level k=2 \\\\ \\hline \n'];
