Creating login user pass in octave

Hi i am very beginner in octave and need create a login with octave  i have  three users and passwords , and i need create a function that verified this information and show error or successfully

i have this but i cant run

function user(usuario, pass)

users = ["user1","pass1";"user2","pass2"];

endfunction
