Basically OCS uses a variant of charge/flux based Modified Nodal Analysis (MNA)
that allows the element evaluators to be implemented independently of the time
stepping method used to solve the DAE system.
The general form of the mathematical problem statement is briefly described in
the document inside the doc directory of the OCS package.
