Thanks for the suggestion. I understand these libraries don't cover
all cards, however. Do you have any idea what kind of effort would be
required to do the missing cards?

As an aside, please don't refer to anything that GNU does as "open
source". The term "open source" was invented to opposing GNU's aims by
not talking about them:

It is important to remember that GNU and Octave are free as in freedom.
