Google Summer of Code - Octave Numerical projects

I am presently doing Masters in Computational Science at Super Computer Education and Research Centre, Indian Institute of Science ,Bangalore.My CV is attached here with.

So, the project chosen from one of the highly used open source computational Softwares- Octave is totally aligned with my area . Also, I have done relevant courses like Numerical Linear Algebra and Numerical methods . So, This project provides me a unique opportunity to apply my knowledge to Software Development in the related open Source World.

I have been using Matlab from past 3-4 years in various fields like Image Processing ,Numerical methods and Numerical Computations. From past 1 year, I was using Open Source Octave and got to know of various functionalities not available in same . So, I would definitely like to take this initiative of developing and enhancing the Open Source World in my area of study.

Please Guide me more about the project and how I be going about it . If you can have a skype session .it would be of real help.
