Hi,
As long promised I am making a new attempt to move back to Emacs. I
read in the list
a rather large explanation how to configure Emacs firendly to Octave,
I hope that is not the standard procedure and some simple is
available.

If anyone has a nice description of this, i.e. How to configure emacs
for Octave, would you post it here? (or answer the e-mail and I will
post it)

I found that Emacs 23.x does is not configured for "octave-mode". I use Emacs 24.x which is cognisant of "octave-mode". 24.x is an alpha/beta WIP next version available from <http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/emacs/>. The pretest directory has Unix source code.
