Octave with ScaLAPACK

I would like to know if it is possible to compile Octave with the ScaLAPACK library (http://www.netlib.org/scalapack/).

I've tried to use the --with-lapack=-lscalapack-openmpi option while running the configure script without success.

If this is not possible, is it possible to use distributed memory implementations of the basic matrix operations in Octave? Maybe using the default operators? I'm configuring a cluster and it would be nice to have such features.
