I downloaded octave from http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/download.html more 
than a year ago. 
I never touched the source code of octave. I am just a user of octave.

If your version of Octave was built with VS2005, then what you want to do may 
be possible.

Can you tells us where you obtained (downloaded) Octave?
