Before you jump on this to suggest that we're being antagonistic to
external GUI attempts, most of those people have seldom an interest to
work *with* us either. They see Octave as an external black box with
which to exchange simple text via pipes, don't care about what goes on
inside the black box, and don't care to talk about the people who are
making this black box. This is an overly simplistic attempt that has
failed again and again, because the black box isn't so simple. The
only difference is that now with Jacob Dawid he actually talks to us,
has push access to the official Octave Mercurial repository, and the
GUI will be maintained along with the rest of the Octave. This is the
only way a GUI attempt can succeed.
