Hi Ted,
could you just try with
cygwin 1.7.8-1 not 1.7.9-1
libgfortran3 4.3.4-4
liblapack0 3.2.2-2
libqrupdate0 1.1.1-1
octave 3.4.0-3
we noticed that cygwin-1.7.9-1 have some problem in the
communication between octave and gnuplot so plot is failing in all the
windows version.
