I am trying to compile 3.2.4 but can't seem to get past the following error:
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libfftw3.a(import-system-wisdom.o): relocation
R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata.str1.1' can not be used when making a shared
object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/local/lib/libfftw3.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [liboctave.so] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/kmccollough/Projects/octave-3.2.4/liboctave'
make[1]: *** [liboctave] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/kmccollough/Projects/octave-3.2.4'
make: *** [all] Error 2
I have tried compiling fftw with the -fPIC option but it doesn't alter the
outcome. Any hints would be helpful. I am on FC13 64 bit OS.
Thanks,
kelvin
