(sorry, I was not thinking clearly. I had a legend title in mind when
I wrote that).

I think this might be fixed in the dev version. I think all packaged
releases suffer from legend plot size issues.

So, I think only kludges are available. I would either; -
- use "text" to put labels near the lines, or,
- duplicate the line style/colour and draw a short line and label it
using "text". ie make a my own function to draw a legend.

Less inelegant kludges may be possible.
