You didn't read, understand, and rewrite the code inside the audio package. :-/

I'm not offering a simple solution; I'm offering what I think is the
correct solution. The current way of writing code directly for
/dev/dsp is what I consider to be wrong. Instead, we should use SDL in
order to write an audio package that works in all major operating
systems.
