Yeh, the shortcut now reads:
C:\Octave\3.2.4_gcc-4.4.0\bin\octave-3.2.4.exe--silent
But i've also tried
C:\Octave\3.2.4_gcc-4.4.0\bin\octave-3.2.4--silent.exe
and many other combinations.
It just says its a incorrect path

I've tried this and it doesn't seem to work. It doesn't seem to be working with any of the other command line functions like the matlab compatibility

Have I installed it incorrectly or something or is there something else I
can do?

You modified the properties of the shortcut that you are using, and it
did not work? I tried it, and it works for me...
