If you do that, note that the snapshots in the FTP site correspond to
mercurial tags. You should do
$ hg up ss-3-3-52
to get the the 3.3.52 snapshot, and you would still have to build a
tarball from it (which should start by running autogen.sh).
FWIW, the FTP site is loading for me. Try again?
