Hi

my SuSE 11.2 includes octave 3.2.4. (=latest)
You should be able to add the repositories of "11.2" to yast, then octave should appear in software-management.

(Beware: Obviously there is the possibility that this package is not compatible with SuSE 9)

So this might be a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of
a SUSE-compatible pre-compiled package for the latest Octave. I've been
wrestling with compiling it myself from source, but I seem to be losing the
match. I'm running SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 on Itanium hardware
(ia64). Please let me know if you're aware of a package that would save me
the compile-from-source headache.

Thank you!
