Hello Martin,
I checked and installed the misisng gcc-c++ but then I get the  error cannot
fine -lreadline: I then  installed the readline-devel package, but again
when I tried to install miscellaneous I get lhdf5 missing so I also
installed both the package hdf5 and hdf5-devel. But again I got the error of
missing -lz

octave:2> pkg install miscellaneous-1.0.9.tar.gz

P.S: I have installed octave from the packman repo.

sudo zypper ar
http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/misc/packman/suse/11.1/Packman.repo

sudo zypper in octave.

Why am I getting so many misisng packages I am not able to figure out. Where
did I made the mistake?
