Distance between lines

Hello,

I'm looking to compare solutions generated by a differential equation solver.  In particular, I want to know how far apart they are.  As the output of the solvers is a sequence of points, I am thinking of somehow measuring the distance between these sequences of points.  Is there an octave function or package that can easily do this?
