Hello All,
I've just learned that Scilab ( http://www.scilab.org/ ) is now GPL v2
compatible - this is what the site says.
It's probably a good news - hopefully both Octave and Scilab will incorporate
code from each other.
I used Scilab a couple of years ago and it was quite decent.
Now they've rewritten a lot of things, so maybe old bugs are fixed (a couple
or so bugs I filed are fixed), and, of course, new bugs may be introduced.
At least, IMO there can be cooperation/code incorporation at toolboxes
level.
They also have a Java-based plotting system.
Regards,
Sergei.
