octcdf redef and endef

 Hi,

  I am adapting some Matlab code that uses the commands:

redef and endef to add variable names to a NetCDF file.

 Seems octcdf doesn't understands them, is there an equivalent in
Octave? So far seems I can get away just commenting these files, but I
was wondering...

 Any experience out there?
