Hello,
I am trying to install Octave on Intel AMD64, Ubuntu 64 OS and I get the following message:
/usr/bin/ld: /usr/local/lib/libtermcap.a(termcap.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `a local symbol' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
/usr/local/lib/libtermcap.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [liboctave.so] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/csv610/Garbage/octave-3.0.1/liboctave'
make[1]: *** [liboctave] Error 2

Can someone help me fixing this problem ?
