Indeed, I was missing the developer libraries, and they are packed as ImageMagick-c++-devel (ImageMagick-devel is not enough!) in Fedora 7.

I'm guessing (and it is a guess) that you don't have imagemagick
installed. Specifically you need the developer libraries, which I'm
guessing is called something like 'libmagick-dev' in most distributions.
