How can I draw the Folium of Descartes in Octave?
In Matlab I did:

f = sym('x^3-x^2+y^2');

Various Octave tutorials explain how to draw simple functions in one
variable, but I can't find a way to draw functions in two (or more)
 I'm a very newbie of Octave (and Matlab too), maybe it's silly
questions - in this case, sorry :)

Thanks in advance,
If this is what you mean,,

you could do it using,

t = linspace(-5,+5,100);
a = 1;
x = 3*a.*t ./ (t.^3 + 1);
y = 3*a.*t.*t ./ (t.^3 + 1);
plot(x,y,'-o;folium of descartes;')

gives a reasonable picture.

Tune 't' for more detailed plot.
