Clearly, we need The One GUI To Rule Them All. We probably should find
a Benevolent Dictator For Life to get started. On that subject, I
found an article that seems vaguely relevant, considering that the GUI
is all about improving usability:

I'd also like to highlight the point about not joining the Clone Wars.
Implementing the Matlab API is important; its graphical interface less
so.

I'm gonna stick to QtOctave because Qt produces native-looking
applications for every platform and because I like its C++ approach to
things, despite its heavily preprocessed code. Hopefully one of these
projects will eventually garner enough momentum to attract more
coders.
