Hi John,

Give me a little time, need to start from scratch, document what I have
done, and get this back to group. I was tweaking like crazy to get around
the problem I was having, so I need to put things back (including compiler
options :-)).

The plotting problem is that with Open Solaris the version of gnuplot
that comes
in /opt/sfw/bin is 3.7 , and needs to be a later release. I pulled and
installed 4.2 from
Sunfreeware and plotting is now fine.

Since oyu have SunStudio builds working, maybe I will jsut switch over
to that. Do you have fftw, sparse support, etc. in your build, or just
a vanilla octave?
