Hi Michael
According to INSTALL in release_docs directry of hdf5
4.3.7. Static versus shared linking
The build process will create static libraries on all
systems and shared libraries on systems that support
dynamic linking to a sufficient degree. Either form of the
library may be suppressed by saying '--disable-static' or
'--disable-shared'.
So by default both library must be made. However, it
always only makes the static library even if I set
--disable-static.
I reported the help disk of HDF5.
Today I found the the hdf was updated from 1.6.5 to 1.6.6.
I tried hdf-1.6.6, but the result was the same.
