Hello Freddie,

If you look at the Octave results, the bit error rates are >0.5. This cannot be correct. This would mean that you can always get a lower BER when you flip all the bits. And of course the BER should decrease with increasing SNR. Actually when you flip all the bits from the Octave results, it seems that you will get BERs close to the ones obtained with Matlab. Maybe somewhere there is an error in the mapping from bits to modulation symbols.

Check # of packets in Octave simulation. Using Law of large numbers, I think
it applies here, and youre looking at small samples of Octave codes.

Generally, the burden of proof is yours. Octave, almost always is never the
source of problems.
