Dear all
I stumbled over the new jhandles package on Octave Forge. I
downloaded it and tried to install it, but got a strange error:
-----------------------
octave-2.9.13:6> pkg install jhandles-0.2.0.tar.gz
error: the following dependencies where unsatisfied:
jhandles needs java >= 0.0.0
-----------------------
Install the 'java' package from octave-forge, I guess
Oh, ok. It was not obvious to me that 'java' refers to an Octave-
Forge package. Maybe the error message could be a bit more specific
about that.
However:
-----------
octave-2.9.13:2> pkg install java-1.2.0.tar.gz
octave-2.9.13:3> pkg install jhandles-0.2.0.tar.gz make: *** [all]
Error 255
error: 'make' returned the following error: Java support not compiled
error: called from `pkg:configure_make' in file /Applications/
Octave.app/Contents/Resources/share/octave/2.9.13/m/pkg/pkg.m near
line 1002, column 2
-----------
Any further ideas?
Matthias
