In both installations I was told that "no mkoctfile found on path" and "./configure: line XXXX: conftest.cc : command not found", and nothing was installed (verified by pkg list). I don't understand what is happening. Am I missing something? Or something else?I don't use Fedora, so I can't give you the details. I'm guessing that you need to install an octave-devel package. In debian I think that package is called 'octave-headers'. Perhaps it is called something similar in Fedora?
