If you can even say the phrase, "declare a variable" you should know
that you have to do that.
i'm just a bit unfamiliar with matlab code and was wondering if it was
undeclared for a reason, or if the value i give it was important. so
before i screwed the code up, i figured maybe i should ask about it.
