no it's actualy TON2.WAV  i wasn't speaking in a verbatim manor, just
saying that the file was there. maybe it's becaust the file is in all
caps and the script calls for it in lower case?

No it doesn't given the message you sent earlier.. See the line

[u1,FS,NBITS]=wavread('ton2.wav');

maybe you want to change that to

[u1,FS,NBITS]=wavread('tone.wav');
