the set command in Octave 2.9.9

Does the matlab set command

SET     Set object properties.
        SET(H,'PropertyName',PropertyValue) sets the value of the
        specified property for the graphics object with handle H.
        H can be a vector of handles, in which case SET sets the
        properties values for all the objects.

exit in version 2.9.9 ?

I am running on a G5 under 10.4.9 and using octave from a binary
version compiled in gfortran downloaded from the site "Mac OS X High
Performance Computing" along with gnuplot and AquaTerm.
