help in running Octave

I just installed the Stable release of Octave 2.1.73
for Fedora 6.  When I use the plot(ones(1,10), I get
the following:

Also, you can see my LOADPATH var set in ~/.octaverc. 
Can anyone help me here?  Please reply to me directly
