Hi
I am in the process of installing Octave (Tester version)
All is well as i follow the instructions but when i start the cygwin , the server is also called up. But when i type 'octave' the prompt does not change. Anyhow i simply typed the sombrero (41) too and it gives me a token error.

.

Any suggestions would be great

I am working on a Windows XP environment and i downloaded octave from the cygwin server
Thanks
Madhu.

Anyways when i type startx i get the following message and they seem to indicate some errors.

$ startx
